Your Three Invitations: October
Daily prayer, noticing where you're leaning, sky meditation
These three invitations are companions for October of Moving Towards Love - a year-long project of sidling in closer to compassion, wisdom and ease.
They are designed to be quick and easy, and to have big effects for small additions. Maybe you’ll try them 🌞

Every day, say this month’s prayer couplet out loud at least once.
During October this is:
May I lean in
to what is steady and good.
There aren’t many words in this month’s prayer and so you can really linger on each one.
What constitutes ‘steadiness’ or ‘goodness’ is up to you to decide. Try to keep an open mind about what these things, people, events, feelings, beliefs or phenomena might be.Notice what you are leaning in to.
At least once a day, get curious about what you’re leaning on or taking refuge in.
You can look at different dimensions - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. What is literally holding you up? What expectations are underpinning whatever it is you’re doing? What or who has disappointed you today, and what was it you’d taken refuge in? What are generally good refuges for you? Which are decent but with some drawbacks? Which refuges tend to make everything worse?
Every day, do one minute of sky meditation.
Sky meditation is simply gazing at the sky and letting it offer you whatever it thinks you need.It might tell you whatever you need to hear, bring you some silence or peace, or just be present with you in your suffering.
If you can get outside when you do this, even better. If you can’t see the sky from wherever you are, then just shut your eyes and imagine the sky.
If you want to do more than one minute, or do it more than once, do! The sky is always ready to receive you.

And it is the month where I must begin turning outwards...sigh. I wish to stay and lean into the darkness for a little longer, steep. Thank you for your support to stay with myself wherever I find I am Satya x
October is a symbolic month for leaning in to what is steady and good. As I move indoors and spend more time in darkness - my body, my thoughts, my habits will all benefit from this attention. I also realized that your last writing was on darkness.
