Ghandi taught- when each of us contributes small steps to a cause, it will make a difference. With what my husbands Mom and my Dad left us we invested in solar panels and a heat pump for our HVAC system. We compost and recycle what we can and maintain a vegetation diet. We are not hero’s, or perfect climate advocates we were part of the crowd who complains and it was time to do some small steps. 🪷

Hurray for small steps!

I focus on what I can do. I eat mostly plants and almost never eat beef because of its climate impact. I used to have a blog where I rated cheeseburgers. Now I eat Impossible burgers and have no regrets. I live in a very bicycle-unfriendly area. I'm looking at moving to a better one.

I think it's really sensible to focus on what's actually possible, and hurray for eating lots of plants (they're delicious too). Good luck in your moving plans - exciting! Always lovely to have you here Thomas, so appreciate your work. 🙏🏻

This was very helpful guidance as to how to respond to the climate crisis. It’s sobering to think what part I have to play in response to this critical point in history.

Thanks Gary I'm glad you found it helpful. And yes, it is sobering isn't it - what times we are living through!

What worries me most is that we don't realise that we are in fact the majority. And if the majority realise that they are the majority, if they come together, then they have the power. Power in numbers. But we easily feel powerless, helpless, numb, too scared to act. We're capable of so much if we come together, and like you say, we'll never know the ripples of our actions. No, we can't fix it or change everything, but I do believe we can do more than we realise, especially together.

If you were the majority, then the public would be supporting XR and JSO, whereas in fact they hate them.

Hi Davy - I think Tamzin means that the majority of folk are now worried about climate change - not that they think direct action is the only method of change. I think we need everyone - some folk need to do politics, some need to do community groups etc... I'm well aware that XR are hated (if you hate them too, you hate me!) - and that many frontline movements were hated too - civil rights, women's rights etc - so I would prefer that it were otherwise, but if that is true then it's okay with me!

The majority of people are certainly worried about climate change. State indoctrination will do that. It has been equally effective in the UK on covid, masks, vaccines, Ukraine and the NHS. The BBC never lets up on climate change and nor does anyone else.

However, we know they are lying about climate change because their hockey stick graph conceals the Medieval Warm Period and the Little Ice Age. Why would they do that if they are telling the truth? But the graph has been double-plus checked by the establishment as a fact, so you believe it. The truth is, you want to believe it.

I see we disagree about many things and my guess is that neither of us will be open to shifting our opinion. We can agree about that 🙏🏻

I am not voicing an opinion. I am reading a graph, while you are ignoring the graph. And it's the climate movement's own graph!

At some point you decided that the climate movement felt good, so you started supporting it. It still feels good, so you continue in it.

But had you been drawn to support it by facts, you would have thought about what I said. But you dare not do that.

I hope and pray that I am the deluded one, and that you are right. Take care Davy.

Yes - power to the people! I never realised how much power I had until getting involved in activism. I am totally with you on that one. Thanks for being here Tamzin.

So glad you think so Wendy - I never know how these kinds of posts will be received as, quite frankly, I think many of us would rather not think about it!! Appreciate your support as always, have a lovely day x

Tell me: What worries you the most about our climate and ecological crisis? What’s your experience been over the past years? What have you found that helps you?
