Really been thinking about this! I'm going for more nurture, less inertia, I needed words that will work with navigating a long flare up of chronic illness, these feel right!

I've thought and thought about this. Tried a bunch of ideas, threw them out. This seems to be the essence of what I'm aiming at: more flourishing less doubt.

Love this Carol, including how you've taken the process of your thinking of your words into account!

I want more peace, less clutter. If I can achieve the second (physical, mental, emotional and digital, then the former will be inevitable I think!)

Satya! More words to choose 😂

This is a wonderful idea though. I shall be pondering.

Your inspiration to choose a word of the year has been amazing to witness how it manifests. Especially this year. All sorts of things are unfolding leading us back to Scotland where we really want to be. We leave on Monday. My word was trust and I lived it all year and trusted that the right path would appear. It arrived in early December 😊 And trust has appeared at the heart of so many things this year. Our words have true power.

Thanks so much for all the gentle support and encouragement. 🙏 Happy new year and love to you 💙

🙏🏼. My four word guiding question (the word “vow” sounds too hard for me, I have never “vowed” anything in my life, I embrace flexibility) - I try to apply my question to things as small as watching TV too late at night, and as big as issues in relationships.

“Does this really matter?”

Love how you've used the language/framework that works for you. And love this!

Like some of your other readers, I always choose a word or phrase for the year. This year it was curiousity and play. This led me down paths I'd never imagined.

In keeping with your prompt, for next year, I would like more travel adventures, and less negative self-talk.

Thank you for a wonderful prompt/invitation! I had already formed one of mine, weeks ago -- the less-of one. Now I can add the more-of one. I find it interesting that one of mine is very concrete, the other less so.

More reading, less striving.

Ooh more reading is one I can get behind. And less striving too. Nice!

More wild, less outdated expectation. When I finally settled on these, I knew I had them 'right' (for now anyway!), as so much has come up around them. Already an interesting process!

Thanks for introducing me to this. I’ve chosen a word of the year since 2009 and think it’s a similar practice as it also encompasses what i want more or less of. I will ponder this some more to add some depth. Thank you!

Look forward to hearing what you come up with Miranda! (Yes, I usually have a word too - such a simple and powerful practice...)
