My experience with internal work is from self-help books, years of CBT, Adult Children of Alcoholics, and 15 years of Kadampa Buddhism.
After nearly 16 years of sobriety, I feel that IFS has appeal in gently getting to know the bits about me that hitherto were regarded as problematic, unavoidable, and too hard to face. My 12-step work and psychotherapy can sometimes get in the way of something new. I'll give it a go nonetheless, because you're so kind and I need it. hahaha.
I know exactly how it is for our current paradigms (which are so helpful!) to get in the way of new knowledge... if it's any help, I've found them to be very compatible - and, hehe, we all need it! Thanks for being here Mike & love back.
Thank you for offering this, Satya! I've been curious about IFS for a while and have enjoyed what you share about it in your regular writing but haven't taken the time to really dive in yet. I am looking forward to doing some further reading now!
Thank you for this! Ive had a moment a few months ago where I internally answered to a scared young part of myself in a way that was transformative. I understand now that I was experiencing a lot of clarity and compassion coming from my Self. This video has allowed me to make sense of that experience, and IFS feels like an approach I can easily wrap my head around and try to integrate into my life. It seems like a liberating journey to accept and recognize our innate plurality and inner contradictions, as they can feel so confusing and overwhelming at times.
So happy to hear this - and yes - 'accepting and recognising our innate plurality & inner contradictions' - what a beautiful way to put it. Good to meet you & thanks for watching 🙏🏻
My name is Sanya and I live in the US in Washington State.
I just wanted to say, you are lovely. Your cadence of speech, the fullness of your voice touched me in a really calming and gentle way.
Thank you for sharing your passion. Thank you for your tender delivery and I am so looking forward to learning more.
As things often are, this is so very timely.
Soft and gentle peace to you. 💗
Ah, Sanya, what a beautiful message to receive. I'm so glad. Soft and gentle peace back to you and thank you for taking the time to write 🤍
Such a wonderful treat to have another IFS video from you to watch. Thank you. 🙏
Ah, thank you Nicola! Another one on its way!
Well done, and thank you, Satya.
