Thank you, I needed to hear that message. I am shattered by the election and go to work each day with some of his followers. It's frightening and sickening and I can't say anything.
Ah Hilary I hear how awful this is & I really empathise. I hope you can find gentleness for yourself and just be with the no-words whilst that is here. Thinking of you.
Since Wednesday, some of my parts are deeply triggered - those that long for the physical safety and health of women, . I have been sad, angry, not sleeping well, working too hard, Some of my parts are deeply triggered. candy. And I as I sit here thinking about this i can also notice my magical parts and wise parts. Noticing the wise and magical parts, I feel a bit calmer. More to explore...... Thanks for the reminders Satya on navigating challenging times.
This all makes total sense Carol and is totally understandable. I am particularly feeling for women, people of colour, queer people - they will suffer even more disproportionately than they do now under a Trump administration. I find the powerlessness very painful myself. Glad you can offer space to your parts. And I love the sound of the magical and wise ones - this may also be Self-energy (or they certainly sound Self-led) - we need those parts of us more than ever! Thank you for sharing, I appreciate that you are here. 🙏🏻
Satya, it seems you just offered a tool kit for navigating tough spots in life. Fact is for me, living guarantees tough spots. That you used an interpersonal framework puts the focus on what events get stuck in our being. I don’t have to search a lot to find immediately accessible incidents that could benefit from healthier ways of living. Negative self talk is interpersonal for me. Lots of old parental voices delivering “not good enough” messages. I’ve been out of the prison of substance addiction-all forms-for over 26 years. While I’ve learned a lot it seems there’s always more to learn. Graduating from life seems to only offer one option! Right now I plan on staying around. Wife, son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, older brother, a dear niece with whom I re-established connection after the firestorms of family dysfunction burned out. And of course my Fido. My constant companion. You might guess a therapy dog? Not trained as one. Nonetheless her presence has brought joy to my life. Thanks ever so much for getting my wheels turning.
Ah Gary so much of what you say here is relatable. I've found those who've recovered from addiction to be the very humblest and wisest around - as long as they're not white knuckling it! - and I can hear the work you've done in your words. And how ongoing it is… I definitely relate to that. Yes - I could say much more about the inside-outside thing (maybe I will in another post) but I think attending to ourselves is where we usually have to start. Then we can offer more to others. I am so happy to hear about the presence of Fido - give them a cuddle from me!
The more I read about IFS the more it intrigues me. Meditating for over 50 years I had become quite friendly with the narration of my inner voice. Then after retiring, studying creative writing, fiction, I became fascinated with the concept of the narrators voice. So from the perspective of IFS to contemplate the multiplicity of those inner voices and the relational sources that activated their trajectory has evoked a new inner listening paradigm, and a new level of causal awareness. Or something like that… I enjoy immensely your perspective, fascinating. Thank you.

So helpful -- thank you, Satya!

Appreciate this so much, Satya, thank you for flexing and sharing your wisdom in a way that speaks to the moment!
🙏🏻 it must be so tough over there. Take care!
Sorry. Hit 'post' a little too soon. I'm guessing you get the general idea.

Thank you so much ❤️
My pleasure 🙏🏻
(i find it on Animal Planet, direct tv channel 282)
Thank you I'll have a look!
Don't let the title turn you off,
but I election-binged
"Pit Bulls and Parolees".
(a dog and people rescue kind of thing)
very nice to see people treat dogs and humans with respect and love, instead of us folks yelling at each other.
Ah Chuck this sounds like JUSTy kind of thing. Don't have Amazon so no way of watching it atm but have made a note! (Exactly)
Thanks 💜✡️☯️✝️☪️☮️
Glad it was helpful Jane x
