Sometimes Vajrapani gently tells Manjushri to put the knife down. D'ya think?

I am sooo intrigued by bayo as well! What a beautiful ritual and I’m glad you were able to discern what you needed right now. Thanks for sharing the process.

Thank you for this, Satya! I've gone through that should-I-or-shouldn't-I with courses and training programmes soooo many times. The various parts just dancing around in my head, vying for attention. I'm fascinated by your ritual with Manjushri, and what it led you to. And I appreciate the concept of being both fierce and gentle. Fierce compassion. I feel like that's what has fueled so many great activists across history ... MLK, Jr., Nelson Mandela, John Lewis, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa.

The entire post was very relatable and it reminded me to reconnect with a fierce part within myself.

This is so relatable:

“This sometimes happens - that my parts are equally split between ‘very excited to do a thing’ and ‘don’t want to do a thing at all’ and they can flip-flip violently between one position and another.”

One of the most interesting things I’ve come to understand along my healing journey is that many things can be true at the same time. I used to get stuck in the all-or-nothing-ness that trauma often brings and I’m grateful for a fresh perspective (even if it does make it tough to make decisions sometimes!)

Congratulations on making the right choice for you and not “shoulding” yourself into something that wasn’t for you right now.

Thanks Christy - yes, it feels good! And yes I think trauma often leads to that all-or-nothing-ness you speak of - in IFS terms we say that our parts are very polarised. Good to remember that there is often a middle way. Thanks for being here.

I think your gift, Satya (not your job, but your innate ability) is not so much to make other people happy, as to give them enough comfort to be themselves. That is both wildly fierce and profoundly gentle. As are you.

Morning Satya. I’m sure you know this but just in case....

Manjushri is known as The Gentle Voiced One. So he is Gentle AND Fierce.

Love, Parami
