"When I remember to open my eyes/heart I can see that I am constantly being showered with blessings, in every moment." Thank you🦋 I realise I am living this life in many ways already- the only things I'd change would be having my own home instead of having to rent a room in a house, and having full energy (not chronic fatigue). But there is so much joy, love and beauty in my everyday.
It is my life every day -- even if I don't alway see it. I am been financially independent for years, set my own schedule, am married to my kindred flame... and teach wonderful poetry workshops to women. But I am most content when I lean into it all and breathe. Tell myself that I am enough -- more than enough... and to accept it all as it is.
(PS I think you sent a message once to my other account I used for reading SS - I've shut it down now and couldn't find the message - if you want to resend to this account please do!)
Satya, What a fantastic question! I'm inspired that you started to shape your contented simple life at a relatively early age. My life is more simple and more contented than ever before. Yet, I still wonder if it could be even more simple. It revolves around writing, meditating, and study. How delicious!
I have a fairly contented life. One I've chosen and taken action to cultivate over 15 years. There are things I think I might want change, but are out of my control. I find those microjoys daily. I call them the perfect moments that are always happening, we just don't always notice them. Thank you for this. I am happy to read it on the same day you published it (the UK /US time differential notwithstanding. Love, Virg
I think it's so important to recognise the things that aren't actually in our control - we can stop fighting them and try and bob and weave with them instead. Happy to hear about your microjoys! I have a suspicion that they are contagious...
Morning Satya. I feel a bit guilty wanting anything more. I have a nice home, a husband of 20+ years, a magical loving dog who blesses my life. Perfection would be close enough to the ocean to walk the beach each day. The peace and joy I feel there completes me.
Oh - and president Obama back in the White House. Blessings to you 🙏🪷
Morning Kim! I'm with you on the White House or, well, anyone!! Mmm an ocean walk... maybe you can find some equivalents nearer your home (unless you ARE near the ocean? I don't think you are). Hope your guilt can step aside to let more inside - it's only going through you anyway! x
Loved this Satya! Especially “my-ideal-life quilt” - something to ponder and stitch together and take action on. Thank you! And what you said completely resonates - the tiny little joys are what have gotten me through the most difficult challenges in my life thus far.🌻
Love this! I wrote about mine here (as well as getting sidetracked!) https://open.substack.com/pub/audhdpainter/p/the-ideal-life?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=3x6x3y
Wonderful!
Thank you Satya!

Happy to hear this Morgana. I think there's always something isn't there? Some fly in the ointment, or maybe even grit in the pearl...

I love that Corie - that it's not enough to HAVE it, we have to notice it/lean into it/feel worth etc... thank you for sharing and for being here.
Thank you, as well, for your authentic presence.
"And this. And this. And this." Yes. Thank you Satya 🙏
It could go on and on and on! Thanks Gaye x
Yes, it really could xx

Happy to hear about your life Sandra - hurray! Sounds lovely to me too. And there are always gentle tweaks to be made, aren't there?
